A basic pillar is the Law for the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Care for Persons in a Situation of Dependency, legislation that establishes a framework for the protection and care of persons in a situation of dependency in Spain. This law was approved in 2006 and its main objective is to guarantee the right of dependent persons to receive the services and benefits necessary for their personal autonomy and adequate care.
