The Chair in the Prevention of Dependency wins the award for Best Research Practices in Tecnosocial 2024

Together with four other award winners, the competition committee has distinguished the research on the Dependency Prevention Scale with the award for Best Practice in Research.

This scale, which is still under development, will mark a turning point in research and intervention in the field of dependency, as it attempts to assess the risk of the person suffering from dependency in the future, thus addressing prevention. Although this aspect is mentioned in Law 39/2006, of 14 December, on the Promotion of Personal Autonomy and Care for Dependent Persons, it is not dealt with as it should be. For this reason, at the Chair we defend the value of prevention so that people can slow down their dependency as long as possible or not worsen the situation they already suffer, thus improving their quality of life.
